Cloud computing and data center provider Savvis announced on Monday that it has launched its Savvis Enterprise Cloud Ecosystem program.
Through the ecosystem, Savvis’ cloud clients can access orchestration, brokerage, management and governance solutions for their private, hybrid and public cloud environments.
This news comes two months after Savvis revealed its schedule of global data center expansions and grand openings for 2013, including new data centers in Singapore and London.
BMC Software, ServiceMesh, Rackware, Compuware, DataGardens, Racemi, RiverMeadow Software and ScaleXtreme are all technology providers in the program, according to the press release. They have made their offerings available to Savvis clients, and will gain access Symphony VPDC cloud capacity for API integration and testing along with direct access to Savvis’ product management and engineering teams.
The ecosystem is a popular way for cloud providers to offer a variety of tools to their customers from a one-stop shop. Through these programs, customers can shop for security, cloud management tools, migration tools and more. Cloud providers like Rackspace have launched cloud tool marketplaces in recent months.
“Enterprises seek comprehensive cloud governance and lifecycle management, including the ability to manage both on- and off-premise workloads – important capabilities that technology providers such as BMC Software, ServiceMesh and Rackware provide to our clients as part of the newly launched Savvis Enterprise Cloud Ecosystem Program,” Jonathan King, vice president of cloud solutions at Savvis said in a statement. “We understand the demands of the enterprise market and listen to our customers to ensure their needs are met. In the future, we plan to augment this program with additional partners that will bring even more capabilities to our cloud platform.”
Once technology providers successfully integrate with the Savvis API, they gain access to Savvis sales and marketing resources.
“With the Savvis Cloud Ecosystem Program, our enterprise customers will be able to continue to leverage our software management tools to optimize their hybrid cloud deployments while also gaining additional product enhancements,” Tim Fessenden, BMC Software’s area vice president of cloud and data center automation said in a statement. “We have been collaborating for the past several months and already have a number of common customers with Savvis who are early adopters.”
At the end of July Savvis announced that it will acquire IT consulting and managed services company Ciber‘s global IT outsourcing business for $7 million.
