Data center operator and infrastructure as a service provider Phoenix NAP announced on Tuesday it has officially launched its European node at Interxion‘s Amsterdam data center.
The move to offer its on-demand cloud solution, Secured Cloud, out of Interxion in another geographic market is the first step in Phoenix NAP’s global expansion strategy.
With the launch of Phoenix Nap’s European node, which was first announced in March, Phoenix NAP customers have the opportunity to leverage a multi-facility and continue relationships with providers like Interxion to extend other services globally.
“We are thrilled that our European node is finally available for our clients to utilize,” said William Bell, brand manager of cloud services for Phoenix NAP. “With our presence inside of the world-class facility Interxion, along with our facility in Phoenix, Arizona, we can confidently present our clients with a multi-location cloud solution to effectively and efficiently manage global traffic and users.”
The expansion also enables Phoenix NAP to help expose the local Valley technology market to other geographic regions, enabling additional inflow of economic activity.
At the time of the original announcement, Phoenix NAP said it chose Interxion’s Amsterdam location based on its direct access to more than 40 carriers and ISPs, and competitive pricing.
The company said it is also considering offering additional IT services out of Amsterdam as demand in the area grows.
This growth can lead to creating more support jobs for the local Phoenix market and lead European companies to consider Phoenix as a US point-of-presence.
